Osteopathy is a drug free method of diagnosing and treating conditions/injuries that can affect the bones, muscles ligaments and tendons in any part of the body.
Osteopathy is based on the principle that the body is a whole; it is a unit. Therefore injury or loss of function of one structure can affect the function of the other surrounding structures. Each patient is different and therefore during a consultation, our Osteopaths will look at your entire muscular and skeletal structure, in order to find the best treatment plan for you.

Sports Massage Therapy

Massage is the most effective therapy for releasing muscle tension and restoring muscular balance. Regular sessions help in the prevention of injuries, which might otherwise be caused by overuse.

A constant build up of tension in the muscles from daily activities may lead to stresses on joints, ligaments, tendons, as well as the muscles themselves. These muscle imbalances develop over time and often go undiagnosed until they are serious enough to cause discomfort or impede performance.

The theory that lies behind acupuncture treatment is that energy flows around our bodies rather like small streams of water. The flow of these streams can become blocked due to tensions that arise from our individual life-style choices and experiences. Once blocks of energy occur then symptoms of ill- health can present themselves. For example tension in our stomach due to stress and worry can lead to indigestion.

  • More about Acupuncture:
More about Acupuncture:

Our dedicated Acupuncturist has been trained on how to access these streams, and through the use of fine needles they strive to restore the smooth flow of energy throughout a patients entire system. As a consequence of improved energy flow a patients ‘internal engine’ can run more efficiently and symptoms of ill-health diminish.

One of the benefits of acupuncture treatment is that once a patient’s internal energy is running smoothly not only will their main problematic symptoms improve, but they may also feel other holistic benefits such as raised energy levels, and feelings of happiness.

Talking therapy, such as counselling and psychotherapy offers a safe, confidential place to talk to a trained professional about your feelings and concerns.

  • What is psychotherapy?
What is psychotherapy?

You might talk about difficult events in your life or your relationships and emotions. Or you might have negative thoughts and behaviours that you want to change.

We usually have a pretty good idea when things are not right. We feel pain, frustration, despair and alienation, and rather like an itch we just can’t scratch, the healthy solutions evade us.

We believe that we all have the birthright and the capacity to be able to be happy. This doesn’t necessarily mean that everything in our lives runs smoothly, it means that we have all our inner resources recruited to serenely cope with whatever comes our way.

You don’t need to wait for a crisis…Let’s talk to find out more contact Tom Corbishley on 07970 166174 or email him at

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (‘NLP’)?

What is Neuro-Linguistic Programming (‘NLP’)?
Neuro= The study and understanding of how we think about things. We all learn things over our lives and have memories stored in a very unique and particular way based on who we are. The storing and repetition of this information generates patterns in our thinking. Under NLP the way we think is explored.

  •

Linguistic = We all use language to structure our internal thoughts. In NLP, linguistics is the study and understanding of how we communicate these thoughts to others - both verbally and non verbally. We also recognise how other’s communication can impact on us as well as our own with ourselves.
Programming = Just as a computer uses a programme to get a result, we too use strategies to get results. Some we are aware of, some not. Some work for us, some do not. It all shows through in our behaviour and the outcomes that we are getting.
NLP allows us to identify what is working well to create an outcome. What is also happening to create an outcome we no longer desire. Then like a toolbox of techniques, we use NLP to help us make adjustments and changes to ourselves. This helps us make improvements in our careers, personal lives and health too. Nutritional Therapy

Nutritional therapy is relevant to everyone - people seeking to optimise their performance or general wellbeing and those who have chronic or acute symptoms or medical conditions.  Your unique constitution or genetic makeup, combined with environmental influences such as diet and lifestyle, are seen to either promote wellbeing or contribute to imbalances, which can manifest as symptoms or disease.

  • What is Nutritional Therapy?
What is Nutritional Therapy?

By assessing your health history and your lifestyle, nutritional insufficiencies or excesses can be improved with a personalised nutritional plan along with lifestyle and supplement recommendations.  Small changes in your diet can lead to big changes in your health and so you can transition to a healthier lifestyle at your own pace.

What Happens in a Nutritional Therapy Consultation?

A thorough medical history will be taken. Your health within all your body’s systems will be assessed because all your systems work together to support your wellbeing.  You can discuss symptoms that are of particular concern to you or other health goals and agree which you wish to prioritise.

In some cases, some symptoms may require a referral to your GP and you will have the opportunity to discuss any tests recommended to get further information required.  Your nutritional therapist will use all available information to identify underlying triggers or mediators of any symptoms as it is important to address the cause rather than simply suppressing the symptoms.  After discussing any dietary preferences and other relevant factors to consider, a nutritional plan will be prepared for you and sent to you by email along with recommendations for any supplements and lifestyle suggestions.  It is recommended to have at least one follow up appointment to reflect on the effect of the plan on your symptoms and to agree any further recommendations to continue to support optimisation of your health.
